I Am A Mother

It was Comm. Day at BYU-Idaho and I was able to meet Jane Clayson Johnson, former co-host of the Early Show on CBS. Jane is such an inspiration to me, she gave up her career in order to do something more important, to be a mother. I read her book over the summer and would highly recommend it to any woman, mother or not.
When I competed in the Miss Teenage California pageant back in 2003, I was able to convey my greatest ambition in life...

"As a grown woman, I will have the world's GREATEST job!

Though challenging, I am determined to realize success.

I will be well-known, yet ignored.

I will receive great love, yet at times, feel hated and rejected.

I will develop skills and talents, yet must make great sacrifices.

I will receive no pay, but my rewards will be priceless.

I may not make a huge difference in this world, but to just ONE person, I may BE the world.

As a grown woman, I will be a mother."

That is still my greatest ambition, I look forward to being a mother someday.

Just a Few Recent Highlights...

I went bowling again with the Alley Cats. These guys could be my body guards, they are such studs!

I was given the opportunity to judge the Little Miss/Mister Hawaiian Tropics pageant with Trina, Mrs. Eastern Idaho. It was fun meeting one of the women I will be competing with in the Mrs. Idaho pageant!

There is a new owner of Hogi Yogi in town!

There is also a new Ophthamologist in town!





The ribbon cutting events have been a great experience to meet the local entreprenuers and also to bring Mr. Rexburg along with me. Tyler is such a support and I love him for it!

"You're My New Friend!"

I volunteered with the Special Olympics for the first time the other day. I was a little nervous since I didn't know anyone.
Yet my nerves were settled when Jason, who is a year older than me, came up and said,
"Hey! You're Mrs. Rexburg, you can be my friend. I have lots of friends!"
Jason will be competing with the Alley Cats at the Special Olympics. I know he will do well, he is an AMAZING bowler! He got quite comfortable with me and by the end of the afternoon he was saying, "I love you Brittany!" It is beautiful people like him that make people like me wonder how to be better.

Bowling with H.A.V.E. F.U.N!

I started volunteering with the H.A.V.E. F.U.N. Organization whose mission is to "Strengthen Family Relationships by encouraging parents and siblings to interact with all of their family members including those with physical and mental challenges through providing ability-appropriate social and recreational activities during evening and weekend hours."

Last week I went bowling and met a new friend named Margaret.

The first thing she said to me was, "Were you in High School Musical?"

"Which girl?" I asked.

"I don't know, you just look like one of the girls!" She replied.

"Well, I hope you're not talking about the mean, blonde one because that wasn't me!"

I am excited for a great start of my work with this organization. It is similar to the Special Olympics but it involves more arts and music alongside sports.

A Lesson From Johnny
